UK Foodservice experts Fletchers Bakeries have launched ‘Il Granaio’, a selection of authentic Italian paninis and ciabattas. The move is in response to reports of a 30% increase in the Italian bread market over the last three years by AC Nielson Scantrack retail data.   

 

The new bread lines include Panini, Herb Panini and Ciabatta, which are all baked to an original Italian recipe using traditional methods and extra virgin oil.   

 

The Paninis are barmarked in true Italian style so there is no need for a special grill and all the breads can be served hot or cold with a wide variety of fillings. Each roll is flat bottomed too which ensures no spillage if a grill or oven is used.   

 

Commenting on the launch of ‘Il Granaio’, Fletchers’ commercial director, Paul Doughty said, “We’ve monitored the growing speciality breads market for some time and listened to what our customers require for their businesses to meet consumer demand. Since the growth trend shows no signs of slowing, the ‘Il Granaio’ range is set to benefit our customers, helping them to boost sales figures across the board.”
